On Christmas eve morning 2005, Marley woke up lame. After many doctor visits, an orthopedist diagnosed her with a genetic degenerative knee ligament. She needed surgery to give her a replacement knee ligament and restore her ability to walk.
Just home from the hospital:

Her leg swollen and red. A row of staples
from her ankle to her hip.

Here is a platform I created to be able to take her with me during her twelve weeks of recovery. This is the sixth version. The first version was too small for her. The next one sank to the floor under her weight. One version collasped as she got on it.
I continue to use this platform, even though
she no longer rides on it. Its great for hauling dirty laundry
from one end of the house to the other. Its good for supporting
large objects while I'm shopping. And small dogs love climbing
up on it as they reach up to my lap for a scratch.

And when Marley got tired, she could snooze.
